Valoració de l'onada de calor de l'estiu de 2003 a la façana Mediterrània de la Península

[cat] L'onada de calor que va afectar gran part d'Europa durant l'estiu de 2003 va tenir també un fort impacte sobre la costa Mediterrània de la península Ibèrica (PI). L'objectiu d'aquest estudi és posar en context instrumental i esbrinar el caràcter excepcional o no de l'episodi de calor ocorregut entre juny i agost de 2003 mitjançant l'anàlisi estadística de sèries de temperatures màximes (Tx) i mínimes (Tn) ajustades a l'escala diària, les quals pertanyen a 5 estacions distribuïdes al llarg de la costa mediterrània de la península, de nord a sud: Barcelona, València, Alacant, Múrcia i Màlaga. S'han analitzat les característiques estadístiques tant de valors extrems com mitjans de temperatura de l'estiu de 2003 i s'han comparat amb els valors corresponents del període 1900-2007. Sobre la base de l'estudi, l'episodi de 2003 és considerat extrem i inusual, amb una temperatura mitjana (Tm) de les 5 estacions per a juny-juliol-agost (JJA) que excedeix 3,3ºC la mitjana 1900-2007, 1,6ºC més que l'episodi més proper amb l'anomalia més gran, al 2001. Cal destacar que l'episodi fou més acusat al nord que al sud. Tots els observatoris presenten tendències positives significatives en l'augment de Tn per sobre els percentils 90è, 95è i 98è i en menys casos per les Tx per sobre d'aquests percentils.

[eng] The 2003 summer heat wave that affected most of Europe also had a high impact on the Mediterranean coast of the Iberian Peninsula (IP). The aim of this study, therefore, is to statically put this event in the context of the instrumental period and find out whether it was an exceptional extreme occurrence or not. The hot event that took place between June and August of 2003 is examined through statistical analysis of daily adjusted maximum (Tx) and minimum (Tn) temperatures series belonging to 5 stations distributed along the Mediterranean coast of the IP: namely from North to South Barcelona, València, Alacant, Múrcia and Màlaga. Statistical analysis have been carried out of both extreme and mean temperature values in the summer of 2003, putting them in the context of the 1900-2007 period. The 2003 event is considered extreme and unusual. Averaged summer (June to August) temperature for the 5 stations exceeds by 3.3 ºC the 1900-2007 mean, with a larger anomaly (1.6 ºC) than the second higher occurrence in 2001. The episode was more pronounced in the north than in the south of the IP. All Tn records show significant positive trends for values exceeding the 90th, 95th and 98th percentiles, while for Tx upper percentiles increasing trends are less general.
