L’espai com a paradigma. Historiografia i poètica dels espais

Abstract

[spa] Durant la modernitat, la noció de progrés va jugar un paper primordial en la conceptualització de la idea d’història i la seva conseqüent ordenació lineal del relat. No obstant això, amb l’experiència d’un segle XX convuls els esquemes conceptuals regits pel model teleològic van començar a esquerdar-se i la relació entre passat, present i futur es va posar en dubte. Partint de la crisi del paradigma de la temporalitat de la disciplina històrica i tenint en compte les exigències del món actual, es planteja una reflexió sobre les condicions de possibilitat d’un temps històric no hegemònic on la presència dels espais adopten un paper destacat. D’una banda, des d’una perspectiva interdisciplinària, s’examinen les principals aportacions efectuades sobre la crítica de la idea de progrés, el sorgiment d’un nou règim temporal i l’auge del pensament espacial. D’altra banda, es proposa una anàlisi teòrica i poètica de tres nocions espacials —la frontera, l’heterotopia i el passatge— amb la finalitat de revisar els límits i els fonaments que permeten pensar la representació de la narració històrica.

[eng] Throughout modernity the notion of progress has played a fundamental role in the conceptualization of history and the linear narrative form conforming to this. However, following the convulsions of the 20th century, the conceptual schemes mainly represented by theological models began to break apart and the relation between past, present and future was put into question. With the crisis of the temporality paradigm as a starting point, and taking into account the demands of the contemporary world, this thesis reflects on the possibility of a non-hegemonic historical time, where space plays a key role. On the one hand, it adopts an interdisciplinary perspective to analyse the main contributions to the critique of progress, the emergence of a new temporal regime and the rise of spatial thinking. On the other hand, it posits a theoretical and poetic analysis of three notions of space —border, heterotopia and arcade— with the aim of reviewing the limits and foundations that allow us to assess representations of the historical narrative.
