Chalcatzingo. Análisis y consideraciones sobre su influencia económica y comercial durante la fase Cantera

[spa] Durante los últimos años, las redes de intercambio y de contacto comercial son objeto de investigación desde diferentes disciplinas, comprendiéndose como el eje central del estudio de la economía en las sociedades arcaicas. En Mesoamérica, el caso de Chalcatzingo, Estado de Morelos, ha puesto de relieve dichos estudios, que han tratado de responder a la cuestión de su función. Dado que la sociedad de éste continúa siendo una incógnita en la actualidad, algunos investigadores apuntan a favor de que Chalcatzingo fue un enclave comercial olmeca, mientras otros optan por considerarlo perteneciente a una cultural local aún desconocida. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es ofrecer un estudio de las discusiones y resultados que giran en torno a la función de Chalcatzingo, focalizando la atención en su función comercial durante la fase Cantera del período Formativo. Para ello, será necesario hacer un repaso de los objetos y artefactos más relevantes hallados en el yacimiento para indicar su procedencia y comprender su competencia como centro comercial. Además, se analizará la vinculación entre la función económica del lugar y el sentido religioso que le ha sido otorgado al enclave.

[eng] Over the last few years, the exchange and commercial networks have been an archaeological object of study, being understood as the central axis of the economic studies from ancient societies. In Mesoamerica, the case of Chalcatzingo, Morelos, has highlighted those studies, which have attempted to answer the question about its role. Being its society an unknown that continues today, some scientists had pointed in favour of Chalcatzingo being a commercial olmec enclave, while others have chosen to consider it indigenous. In this project the aim is to offer a study based on the discussions and results that involve the role of Chalcatzingo, paying special attention to its commercial function during the Cantera phase of the Formative period. It will be necessary to do a review over the most relevant objects and artifacts found in the settlement to indicate the origin and understand its role as a commercial centre. Moreover, the link between its economic function and the religiosity that have been found on the settlement will be sought.
