Acomodació dialectal després d’un procés migratori: de Balaguer al domini del català central

[cat] L’any 1973 Howard Giles postulava per primer cop les bases de la teoria de l’acomodació lingüística, que pretenia donar resposta als comportaments dels parlants enfront de la massa social. Quines accions acosten, allunyen o mantenen la distància entre interlocutors. Aquest estudi en fa una breu retrospectiva per tal d’inserir-se en aquest marc teòric postulat. Així doncs, a través d’enquestes dialectals s’analitza el procés d’adaptació que fan els parlants del nord-occidental respecte a la seva varietat d’origen. En concret, emigrants de la ciutat de Balaguer al domini del català central. D’aquesta manera, la una raó del treball no és només indagar en la pèrdua o manteniment d’elements lingüístics del nord-occidental, sinó també en la variació lingüística, els usos i les raons ideològiques i extralingüístiques que motiven al canvi, tant dels emigrats com dels mateixos balaguerins.

[eng] The Communication Accommodation Theory, first conceived by Howard Giles in 1973, pretended to explain speakers’ behavioral changes facing the rest of the society. What actions bring closer, distance or maintain the distance between partners. In order to comprise the present study in the theoretical framework proposed, a brief retrospective on Gile’s theory is made. Through dialectal surveys, it is analyzed the process of adaptation made by speakers of the Northwestern part of Catalonia regarding their original dialect. Specifically, the study focuses on migrators from the city of Balaguer to the Central-speaking area of Catalonia. Therefore, the aim of this study is not only to investigate the loss or maintenance of Northwestern linguistic elements, but also to consider linguistic variation, language usage and ideological and extra-linguistic reasons that motive changes among both speakers who have emigrated to the Central-speaking area and who have not moved from Balaguer.
