dc.description.abstract | This document states that during the period from 1645 to 1715, which coincides with the Maunder minimum, the Agrarian Revolution in England sped up. In order to confirm this fact, different transmission channels are presented: first, the LPNI (Land Natural Productivity Index), a new concept included in the Total Factor Productivity (TFP). Second, the changes in the labor-energy offer, which measures much better the impacts on the labor force, and third the energy market. The performance of these factors would at first force the use of ingenuity in the agrarian sector and then pave the way for productivity development, innovating and introducing improvements. (This second stage would occur between 1700-15 and 1750). These innovations and improvements can be measured through what I call the Land Production Social Index (LPSI), second component in the PTF and one of the bases of the future industrial transformation. This preliminary research paper also shows the need to consider an alternative approach (the energetic approach) which could be integrated in economic history, thus going from a merchandise-approach to an energy-approach. | ca |
